Hon. Olabinjo Benjamin Adeyemi was born on the 4th of October, 1958 to a renowned Olabinjo family Ode Remo in Remo-North LG Area of Ogun State. He had his primary education at Emmanuel Primary School, Isoyin, Ogun State from 1966 -1972 and obtained the First School Leaving Certificate. For his secondary education, he attended Ibeju Senior High School, Ibeju – Lekki and obtained the West African School Certificate in year 2000. His desire for higher education led him to Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU), Ago – Iwoye, Ogun State where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial and Labour Relations in 2010. His quest for leadership and managerial skills led him to the prestigious Business School, University of Manchester, United Kingdom where he obtained a certificate in Leadership and Management Development.
He had a short stint with Acme Builders and Record Manufacture, Nigeria Limited, both in Lagos and later established Ben Olabinjo Integrated Ventures Limited where he was the Chairman and Chief Executive.
Olabinjo’s selflessness and ability to engender social and infrastructural development in his community endeared him to all. At the return of democratic dispensation, he ventured into politics and twice won chairmanship elections between 2008 and 2014 at Ojokoro Local Council Development Area on the platform of the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN)
A fellow of many professional bodies such as, Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria; Institute of Corporate Managers and Public Administration; and Institute of Environmental Accountants of Nigeria.
In recognition of his contributions to grassroots development, he received many awards among which are, Outstanding Performance Award 2010 by Concerned Human Rights, Nigeria; Distinguished African Icon of Grassroots Development by The African Leadership Society, Accra Ghana, and Award of Excellence for Meritorious Service by Rotary Club of Gbagada South, District 9110, Lagos
Olabinjo, a sport enthusiast, received many awards for promoting sports and recreational activities in Ojokoro LCDA. He was appointed a special Adviser on Commerce and industry in October 2015 and redeployed in the same capacity to the Office of Civic Engagement in January, 2018
Hon. Olabinjo, an accomplished farmer, is happily married and blessed with children.
