KEHINDE OLAIDE JOSEPH —- SPECIAL ADVISER ON CIVIC ENGAGEMENT
Kehinde Olaide Joseph, a fellow, Chartered Institute of Public Management of Nigeria, was born in 1968 at Ijebu-Ode. Having come of age and his parents appreciation for education, young Kehinde was enrolled at Baptist Day School, Ereko, Ijebu-Ode for his primary education where he passed out with his First Leaving School Certificate. Thereafter, he proceeded to Yewa Comprehensive High School, Ajilete, where he obtained the West Africa School Certificate.
Upon completion of his Secondary Education, Kehinde Olaide Joseph was admitted to Lagos State University (LASU), where he bagged a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc) Honours Degree in Public Administration.
In his quest for equipping himself for future endeavours in the ever dynamic world, he enrolled at the University of Lagos for a Diploma Course in Computer Science, not satisfied with diploma in computer science, he went further to enrol at the prestigious National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) for a Diploma Programme in Advance Computer.
Having equipped himself, he began his career as a Credit Administrative Officer in Cowrie Trust Limited between 1992 and 1998. Along his career path, his interest in serving humanity grew and by 1999, he was among those who volunteered to give our democracy a chance.
His political tutelage dated back to 1992, when he served as the Treasurer Alimosho Local Government Youth in the Social Democratic Party (SDP)
He was a foundation member of Alliance for Democracy (AD) in Alimosho Local Government. After the formation of Alliance for Democracy (AD) and its subsequent victories in the 1999 elections in Lagos State, Kehinde was appointed a Personal Assistant to Hon. Oluwafemi Adebano representing Alimosho Constituency – 1 in the Lagos State House of Assembly between 1999-2003.In continuation with his streak of political appointments, he served as the Special Assistant to the Chairman, Alimosho Local Government from 2003-2006.
He was the President of Alimosho Youth Mainstream (AD, AC and ACN) Era between 1998–2000. Under his leadership, the youths were accorded their rights and privileges as they emerged Councillors and Supervisors in Alimosho Local Government Council. As the President of Alimosho Youth Mainstream he served in many capacities at the party level amongst which were Ward Chairman, Egbe-Idimu Local Council Development Area between 2003 and 2006, Chairman of All Ward Chairmen in Alimosho Federal Constituency, where he led the party to many victories. He was also Vice-Chairman, APC Egbe-Idimu LCDA. He is at various times served as executive member of the Community Development Associations at Egbe Idimu Area and member of various Youth Organizations and Civil Societies.
Due to his acumen in grassroots mobilization, he was appointed Director General Senator Adeola Olamilekan Solom FCA (YAYI ) Campaign Organization for Lagos West Senatorial District. .His worthy contributions to the development of youths did not go un-noticed as he was appointed a member of Security Sub- Committee of the 18th National Sports Festival ‘Eko 2012’ Games. He was however, appointed a Special Adviser on Civic Engagement in the newly created Office of Civic Engagement
Honourable Kehinde Joseph is an avid football follower and a social commentator. He is happily married with lovely children.
