Dr. Oguntimehin, Olukayode Olumuyiwa – A medical doctor, was born on the 27th of July, 1959. After his primary school education, he attended Christ’s School Ado-Ekiti for his Secondary Education from 1969 to 1975. His quest for higher school took him to the polytechnic, Ibadan between the year 1975 to 1977 and later, University of Ibadan from1979 to 1982 where he bagged a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry.Not satisfied with that, in 1984 he proceeded to University of Benin Teaching Hospital where he obtained another degree, this time in Medicine (M.B.B.S) which he completed in the year 1989. To further enhance his professional competence, he attended Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine in England from 2007 to 2008.
His work experience started in Lagos State Service as a House Officer at the General Hospital, Ikeja in 1990, he moved to Gbagada General Hospital and served as Medical Officer II between 1991 and 1992. He served in the same capacity between 1992 and 1994 at Agbowa-Ikosi General Hospital. He became a Senior Medical Officer and posted to Ikeja General Hospital where he served between 1994 and 1997.
In 1997, he was posted to the Government House Clinic, Marina where he served as the Attending Physician till 2013. Along the line of his career progression, he rose to an enviable position of a Consultant Special Grade 1 at LASUTH between 2009 and 2013.
He was appointed a Permanent Secretary in August 2013 and posted to the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board and remained there until his posting to office of the Civic Engagement in Feb 2015.
Dr. Oguntimehin is a member of many medical professional bodies, among which Royal College of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene U.K, International Society of Infectious Diseases, Liverpool Association of Tropical Health, Hospital Infectious Society, EPICORE and Nigeria Medical Association. His hobbies include Soccer, Chess and Reading.
He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene
Dr. Oguntimehin is happily married with children.
